1.Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY)
UADY is one of the oldest universities in Merida, the institution has evolved significantly with the integration of its faculties into five campuses by areas of knowledge: Social Sciences, Economic-Administrative and Humanities; Exact Sciences and Engineering; Health Sciences; Biological and Agricultural Sciences; and Architecture, Habitat, Art and Design. Currently, more than 26,000 young people are studying at the UADY in high school, undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Campus of Architecture, Habitat, Art and Design 10 (CAHAD) is located in front of La Mejorada Park, in the historic center of Merida. Unlike the other university campuses, this one was not moved to modern complexes, but will continue in the former Franciscan convent of "La Mejorada". It has a 489 m² library containing a documentary collection of 22,458 volumes.
Biological and Agricultural Sciences Campus
The Biological and Agricultural Sciences Campus is located near the former hacienda of Xmatkuil, south of the municipality of Merida, and is home to the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry. It has a 991 m² library containing a documentary collection of 16,953 volumes.
Health Sciences Campus
The Health Sciences Campus, located to the west of the city of Merida, includes the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, the School of Chemistry, as well as the Biomedical Research Center and the Health Sciences Library, inaugurated in 2006. It has a library of 2,790 m² containing a documentary collection of 28,938 volumes.
Social Sciences, Economic-Administrative Sciences and Humanities Campus
The Social Sciences, Economic-Administrative and Humanities Campus16 is located on the highway to Motul, in the northeast of the city of Mérida. It houses the School of Anthropological Sciences, as well as the Schools of Psychology, Economics, Law and Education. The facilities of the School of Accounting and Administration are currently under construction. It has a Sports Unit, with seven-a-side soccer, soccer and basketball courts. It also has a 765 m² library containing a documentary collection of 24,081 volumes.
Exact Sciences and Engineering Campus
The Exact Sciences and Engineering Campus18 is located on Merida's Periferico Norte (Kilometer 33). This campus includes the Faculties of Engineering, Mathematics and Chemical Engineering. It has a 620 m² library containing a documentary collection of 27,404 volumes.
Tizimín Multidisciplinary Unit
The Tizimín Multidisciplinary Unit is located in the city of Tizimín, in the east of the state of Yucatán. It offers bachelor's degrees in Education, Nursing, Computer Science, and Accounting. It has a library of 247 m² that contains a documentary collection of 7356 volumes.

2. Marist University
The Marist University of Merida was founded in May 1996 by a group of Marist Brothers and alumni. It is one of the universities in Merida that has the best student community, since one of its main concerns is to foster an atmosphere of fellowship among students, faculty and staff.
Its integral vision of education and its ability to link with the social and professional environment make it one of the best universities to study in Merida. The University belongs to the Institute of the Marist Brothers and its highest governing bodies are headed by the Brother Superior of the Western Mexico Province. It was founded in 1984 at the initiative of Archbishop Manuel Castro Ruiz and with the support of a group of businessmen from the southeast of Mexico. 4. Modelo University
The Modelo School is one of the most historic schools in Merida, Yucatan. Since its founding in 1910, at the dawn of the Mexican Revolution, the Model School has been faithful to its purpose of being an educational space that responds to the requirements of social and cultural life in Merida. Immersed in the thought of pedagogical renovation, the precursors of this school, especially Gonzalo Cámara Zavala, placed all their hope in the transforming capacity of education for the integral formation of man and the progress and welfare of Yucatecan society. The Universidad Modelo is part of the academic group of the Escuela Modelo. It opened its doors to knowledge in 1997 and since then has built its educational quality based on science and human values. 5. Merida Institute of Technology
The Instituto Tecnológico de Mérida is a university in Mérida located in the north of the city, this public education university is focused on the areas of engineering and administration. The Institute began operations in September 1961. Its financing was made through a tripartite agreement between the Federal Government, the State Government and the private sector. Four months later, on January 18, 1962, the Institute was officially inaugurated by the then President of Mexico, Adolfo López Mateos. Currently the direction of this academic institution is in charge of M.C. Mirna Manzanilla Romero. For 54 years it has promoted excellence in teaching and research for the training of professionals to serve and develop society.
